No More Kaka to Real - World’s Worst and Oldest Transfer Rumour Finally Dies :D

Real Madrid President Ramon Calderon has finally killed off the Kaka to Real Madrid rumour, which we genuinely feared was going to live forever. The rumour actually predates The Offside, as it all started when Calderon was elected Real president in July 2006 with a promise to sign the Brazilian playmaker. The Kaka to Real story reappears every few months, and no doubt Calderon et al have made the occasional approach to see how many big bags of euros Milan would want. They even managed to tempt Kaka onto the Real team bus last year.

But this week Calderon either finally realized AC Milan weren’t selling, or - shock of shocks - decided to start listening to Bernd Schuster, the man who gets paid to pick the Madrid team, and has more or less ended the endless pursuit.

“Any signing must fit three criteria,” says RC. “Firstly that the coach and sport director want him, secondly that he fits the behaviour and philosophy of the club, and thirdly that he can help the team become better. With Kaka the first criteria is not met.”

Kaka belongs to jesusSo does this mean the absolute end of the Galactico era? I know the days of Beckham, Zizou, Figo, Bobby Carlos and Ronaldo are behind us, but Real have still seemed keen to make the replica shirt cash registers ring with potential big name signings like Cristiano Ronaldo. More likely is that Calderon is smart enough to know a transfer dead end when he sees one (or when he’s run into it for the nth time) and that to keep being linked with the same player over and over without actually signing him gets embarrassing eventually.

Plus, we all know Kaka belongs to Jesus anyway. LOL =D
